Footie Bugs

FootieBugs FootieBugs is the UK's leading children's football based activity offering classes for children aged from three to nine years! All of our programmes are designed by a team of specialist doctors, physiotherapists including the guidance of FootieBugs Ex England International and premiership footballer, Lee Hendrie.   Through a combination of football based training modules children are not only taught the art of football (by highly trained coaches and in many cases ex professionals) and the core skills needed, but are also taught how to develop invaluable social skills such as listening, sharing, taking turns and especially, working together as a team.

Give Us Back Our Game

We are football coaches, teachers, parents, sport development officers, writers, children's welfare officers and academics who are passionate about the beautiful game and committed to putting children first.

"A touch is a touch, even a bad one" - Bert-Jan Heijmans - The dutchUK football school

Dutch UK Football School

Dutchman, Bert-Jan Heijmans, founded the dutchUK football school (DUFS) in the North East of England in 2002. Bert-Jan had been a successful player and coach in Holland and when he moved to England he found that the football cultures were very different. What he saw was a lot of good raw talent, but at grass roots level these players were not getting the education and development they deserved. Over a number of years Bert-Jan devised a plan of how to bring the more positive aspects of both football cultures together to benefit youth football in England and from that the dutchUK football school (DUFS) was born.
